David C. Smith
Principal & Managing Attorney
David has been practicing law since 2000, following a career as a computer consultant and manager of a computer department for an insurance company. While attending law school, he was involved with projects that combined technology and the law, including e-discovery and computer forensics.
David’s practice focuses on consumer and commercial law, representing individuals and businesses with an emphasis on debtor representation in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, 11 and 13 claims.
In addition to his bankruptcy practice, David also practices in personal injury, real estate, corporate formation and dissolution, employment, transactional law, Internet law and e-commerce. He and his office also volunteer and participate in pro-bono work within the community.
When not advocating for his clients, David enjoys quality time with his wife and daughters, skiing, tennis, reading and all things science fiction.

Lisa Tigges Smith
Lisa has been working for the Law Offices of David Smith for over 10 years. Lisa’s role is the overall business management of the firm including marketing, accounting and human resources.
Prior to joining the firm, Lisa was a successful event coordinator as the Director of Events for Drake University in Iowa. After moving to Washington in 1996, she finished her bachelor’s degree, while her husband attended law school.
Outside of the office, Lisa enjoys her primary role as mother and life guide to two beautiful daughters and the adventures that entails.

ABOUT Jessica Montgomery
Jessica Montgomery is a Paralegal at Law Offices of David Smith. Long before she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Washington Tacoma with concentration in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, Jessica had a keen interest in the legal field. She first began working with David Smith after college in 2010.
Jessica’s favorite thing about working at Law Offices of David Smith is the energy of the team. Everyone’s positive attitude and hard work for the clients makes it a great environment. She also appreciates having the opportunity to work remotely. This allows her to have a career while raising her 2 ½ and 1 year olds, who keep her very busy.
When she’s not working, Jessica loves to cook, browse the aisles at Target and spend time with her family.

ABOUT Sarah Long
Sarah is the receptionist and legal assistant at Law Offices of David Smith. She became interested in law after spending time abroad in Amsterdam, working in an anti-sex trafficking non-profit organization.
She enjoys working with the David Smith team, as everyone has a strong work ethic but a great sense of humor as well. Sarah says that working in bankruptcy law requires having a lot compassion and patience, and she finds it incredibly rewarding to be able to help people in difficult financial situations.
When she’s not working, Sarah is often busy studying for school and spending time with her one-year old son.
